I need to replace an old gunked up bottle trap and strainer basket. How do I know if I need 32mm or 40mm?:confused5:

By the size of the pipe.

OR

Wrap a length of string around your pipe and mark it, then take string with you and find the pipe section first to compare sizes.

If its for a kitchen sink it should be 40mm

We did have a poster the other day claiming his was 20mm and chrome! In today`s world should is not as strong a word as it used to be if you see what I mean.

Thank you rpm. Whilst I'm being a noob.....does the 32mm & 40mm refer to the pipe diameter?
