Hi all, just wondering if being gas safe for domestic, are you allow to touch boiler in shops with pipe size under 35mm(?). I am thinking more of small salons, small shops and offices etc which use small boilers like we have at home. Many thanks in advance.

yes if the pipework volume is in limits

Yes you can. Anything up to 70kW. The volume of gas in pipework and size of appliance determine whether you need further qualifications. Catering, of course, is a different area of expertise too!

That's my understanding John_ :)

Oh, heard catering is not worth the bother as it is likely to be a very unpleasant environment to work and the owner don't normally want to pay an honest price. Myth?

the use of building is less relevant than the actual appliance fitted, (catering aside as already mentioned) the limit for domestic is a domestic rted appliance up to 70kw net HI (check with manufacturer as some smaller boilers are commercially rated) the max IV (installation volume) of the whole installation must be under 0.035m3, all gas qualified people will have been made aware of the calculation for this during training for last ACS

what is the calculation kirk, all the pipework x 1.5 for fittings and then meter volume? Do you have a quick guide to the amount of 35mm pipe you can add to that? I seem to have deleted all the info you emailed me since I passed. Regretting it now as now I am quiet i wanted to brush up on it all so i don't forget
