Know exactly what you mean.
Support it guys. Even though this home and this is where you're all loved.
Ive just joined it with my proper name ....what a div
well i got an email this morning about it so looked over it and then went out. then come back this afternoon googled contractor forum and made an account call "justin farenough" for a laugh then realised it was a totally different forum !
It's a new forum and like all things new, it will take time to grow and mature. It's in no way ever going to cause conflict with here. Many of the members on here are members of the other forums too and don't see any war going on there.
I think it's a good idea to have all the trades on a single forum. How many times have we faced a problem on a job with electrics or joinery or brickwork or just any other trade that we are not clued up about. We can now ask about it on the one forum instead of trawling through several.
The more join up, then the more posts it will get and the quicker it will grow. It will be a useful asset to run alongside this and the other forums, not to merge or replace it which is not going to happen.
I can see great potential with it and will stick it out over there as well as coming on here.
But true and all meant. It just needs time to grow as did this forum when it first started up.Carefully scripted words there system
It's easy to tell a question asked from a diy'er compared to a tradesman. Through time when the forum grows it will be a requirement for proof of being qualified just like on here.
And Appy everyone did rejoice and there was merriment and laughter and talk of great things when we saw that you had signed up.
Reading through some threads there's builders asking questions on gas boilers etc is that going to be how it is?
NO!
And if you can link me to those threads (which I'm guessing are old?) I'll remove them and PM the member(s).
Are they 100% builders, and not gas engineers?
Contact me over there and I'll get it deleted. I'll have a thorough look through all the old threads tomorrow and delete these threads and post up our gsr advice.Gas boiler in external brick garage is the thread I read. Sorry cant do links.
but nothing gas was mentioned ! it was frost stat and lagging ! its going to be stupid if you cant even mention the word boiler if sombodys throwing GSR at you or closing threads ! yes i understand the rules and i hate DIY gas ! i dont do it myself but sometimes just to much !
I've joined. And now I feel guilty and dirty, almost as if I've committed adultery.
Am staying right here , better the devil you know.
we are the best thoughWe don't like change, we fear it.
I'll be staying put on here. I don't wanna talk to other trades. Not in a nasty way, just personally not interested.
we are the best though
I don't think it's too much at all really. It's taken a long time and a lot of hard work by many on here to get to the point this forum is at. I think it will undermine all that has been done on here if it isn't mirrored on there.
