Hi all. I have been out of the UK for the last 19months and was wondering if there have been any significant changes to the industry? Also has the resession started to lift?

yes in a way,,, loads of plumbers are now self employed and chasing every job

New water regs came in at the beginning of April. No idea what they all are but one is to fit isolating valves before every tap. Diesel's up, petrol's up, food's up, beer's up, income's down so no change there.

wages down, competition up, i cant talk for everybody but the plumbers i know say the last 4 months have been the hardest in a long time! recession seemed to lift then all of sudden it hit again.

That is not good news. I thought it was bad when I left. I hope things pick up for everone soon.
