What's the best tool bag for servicing got my eye on ck magna

thanks gem

Stanley 18" tool case poo fix £26 two sliding draws and loads of room for Anton tools claps flue brushes and scrapers caps washers small tube of gas cock grease and weir cup. Handy step too if boilers a little high.

Stanley fatmax tool organiser. I used to get through 1 tote every year then I bought 1 of those it lasted me 3 years only a car crash finally finished it off.

Unlike totes like I have now as I'm doing more install work they don't fill with rubbish as easily so doesn't get too heavy.

On the 1 side I had all my usual everyday tools and my regin premier manometer on the other I had spanners flue brushes warning pads labels and a few other bits and bobs.

Hi gem. I use a magma I think it's the 2632 I've got. Brill case.

lots of money buys the best and they are over £100, anything less doesnt last

My one was £44 . Likes of the vetco s are a lot dearer. I wouldn't mind trying them.

bg toolbox, forget the stupid fancy bags, there all crap and cost too much, you can even stand on this one TOOL BOX (BLUE) 20" C/W STORAGE TRAY

I hated that tool box when I had to use one. For me it has to have a shoulder strap as if you can't park close it makes it so much nicer too carry. I was working in st Ives during the summer holiday and had to park about a mile away so bag over the shoulder and off I went.

I find most tool bags do the job as long as you don't overload them.

Same as above, excellent bag, really tough and worth the money

I have a 19' stanley box with 2 cantilever trays that pop up when ye open it. Carries loads, ye can c exactly what ye have. Analyser and multimeter/ test leads fit in lovely down d bottom.
Its up to you whatever yer most comfortable with. If yer only doing 'clean' work bags are good but if they get dirty ye don't want to be putting them on customers floor dirtying them. A box ye can wipe. Whatever yer comfortable with.

I've just bought a veto pro pac, possibly not one of my better ideas as its not big enough for my everyday tools (it looked bigger on YouTube) may be able to use it in summer as a service bag tho

Me too , i use a magma tool case for service n maintanance and fancied the vetco one,

Hi Ermintrude don't be put off by my mistake the bag itself is the dogs doo dars, I bought the the LC model, the side that holds all the meters is fine but because i normally use a tech case due to some of the specialist tools I'm issued with they don't all fit in the other side

Plastic Bucket, everything fits, couple of £ to buy, unless you use old fittings buckets, never found the need to spend loads of money on flash tool bags, and don't think customer is to bothered what your tools are in

Look a bit rugged going into an 100k kitchen with a bucket.

If there boilers not working they don't care as long as it fixed, been in loads of big gaff's when I used to cover Ascot / Windsor, Now in Devon old Potato sack is fine, don't want Farmers to think your going to overcharge

Any one remember the old style plumbers tool bag, couple of handles put in on the floor and it just opened up. not seen on for years, Has any one still got or use one ??

Hessian and canvas lined? with a few metal eyelets for stringing it up? Had one few years ago for stillys. Got it from an old boy, it was a really thick heavy one.( leave croppie out of it please) nice but it weighed 2st empty . Think Tamz has got one its in his dress to impress kit. NCB donkey jacket with orange shoulders, cloth cap. Chuccas with toe caps on outside. And chords held up with braces.

Is he still doing rounds on old Butchers Bike, with the big carrier on front ? and paraffin blow lamp
:66:

thermos? one of the old plumbers i worked with brought a pint of cold tea in a glass milk bottle with a bit of plastic tied on with string after he had drunk it the string and plastic went in his pocket i worked with him nearly two years and it never changed and he came to work on a bike

Lunch is wrapped in grease proof paper and he's got a glass lined tartan thermos

Btw i still have a green tartan flask at the back of the cupboard and i stopped having my piece (lunch) wrapped in the wrapper off a plain loaf years ago:smile:

What about the Bike & paraffin Blow Lamp ? :66:

Aye i've got a paraffin blow lamp but i've never been on a bike for years

I've got this from this US tool import site:

http://www.hartley-tools.co.uk/catalog/i67.html

It's ace. Room for all tools I could want, all organised nicely. Ridiculously hardwearing and durable (the material is silly thick and strong), but that comes at a cost of weight. Even when empty this thing is bloody heavy, so weaklings need not apply!

I just bought 2 Makita bags from Wickes 29.99 each!! Shoulder strap, and metal handle, saw pouch and a little pouch on front for multimeter or anything else you might want to put into it!! Only issue is side pockets are a little small but haven't really organised them properly yet!!

I love my FatMax rucksack, I can get all my regular tools in the internal pull out tool organiser and then fill the internal pockets with air spray, ldf, ptfe, pipe cutters etc, and with its hard base it stands upright and its top handle make a joy to carry around.

I'm sure this has all been said before, but hey I've only just foundthe post. :santa_smiley:

What about the good old 'Gladstone Bag' - the original and the best.

Or were they a Yankee thing?

My boiler was serviced a month ago and now it's leaking. Is it normal for the plumber to repair the leak for free seeing as it was so recently serviced?
