Hi, I was in doing my commercial change over from domestic. And the lecturer had a software program where you could just enter the meters of pipework and which meter and it would do all the calculations for you. It was based on a spreadsheet, anyone got any ideas what it was called?
Thanks sam

Hi, I've just created a new pipe run (roughly 23 meters) from meter to boiler with no appliances. I did the tightness test 5 times, each showed roughly a 1mbar drop with absolutely no smell of gas . I have checked every joint with leak detector twice and nothing showed. There is however a...
Hi all Had a call tonight from a project manager for a building firm I sub contract to. A boiler has been moved at a clients house which has subsequently had a gas leak (blue flames from below boiler) NB I haven't been to this site at all & as yet we are uncertain as to who moved it !! When I...
Hi , just wanting some opinions over what the correct procedure is when tightness testing a property with all appliances connected and no reported smell of gas ? for example a drop of 2.5 mb over the 2 min test period would be within tolerance of either gas meter . What would the next step be as...

Hello Guys,

Went to a gas escape job today, BG had capped meter.
Big deal thinks I.
Reconnected meter and commenced TT.
Gauge dropped 20mb in about ten seconds.
I could be criticised but I think BG were spot on with this one.

Today, was doing a bot of work and was doing a test on the meter. the thing is, when wacking gas upto 20mb, it would hold for around 10 seconds and suddenly drop to 18mb. This is during the stabilisation period. So after 1 minute i put it back upto 20mb, and it drops to 18mb again. and holds...
