inlet
An inlet is an indentation of a shoreline, usually long and narrow, such as a small bay or arm, that often leads to an enclosed body of salt water, such as a sound, bay, lagoon, or marsh.
Went to a property this week, customer was saying that the hot water was too hot. In the airing cupboard the flow to the heating coil had a TRV on it with a remote sensor stuck on to the cylinder. The TRV was set to 2. I turned it down to 1. Asked if he'd call me back to see if there was any...
asked to service a rayburn 460k today.... turned up and found out it wasnt working on cooker side, so lifted off the hotplate to find it full of soot, popped cooker on and flames leaped up the wall, nice n yellow and smoking...

Hi. I need to replace a broken bath mixer/shower tap but the gap between the pillars is 150mm and all the ones I find are 180 unless they are wall mounted which mine isn't. Any suggestions where I can get this size? Or any suggestions what I...
Has anyone dismantled these before... The water pressure / flow rate has dropped right off on the hot & cold outlets, I suspect the inlet filter is full of debris. I only recall changing one of these once & it took ages to pull out as it was a pig of a job! I'm referring to the big plastic...
Is there any of these that will allow the water to dishcahrge straight onto a road (backings)
Believe it or not even with a pump I can't get to a drain on there property , without re siting the boiler and ripping half the house to bits.
Hi,
I've come across a few thermostatic shower mixer valves where the technical spec states the inlet centres are 150mm (+- 5mm). What does the +-5mm mean, if on the valve body the distance of the inlet holes are fixed at 150mm.
Does it mean that the inlet centres on the wall can be between...
So, toilet overflowing. Tried to fix ball cock, still drips, whipped it out, not easy.
Put same in BUT the shank wasn't long enough to reach the pipe fitting to connect water, no play in pipes.
Luckily I had 4 new fluidmasters on the van!
Anyway, how do you get around the length of shank (!)...
Apologies for what will come across as a bit of a vague post.
My mother has just moved into a newly renovated bungalow. I have been sent the below picture showing the pipework available to plumb in her washing machine.
From the description I have received, the inlet hose is larger than the...
hi, please excuse any ignorance on my part that this question may throw up.
my lead metal mains pipe enters the house and looks a respectable 3/4" outside diameter but within 6 inches it is reduced to 15mm copper to pass though the stopcock. this then passes through the water meter using 15mm...

Hi All,
I'm after some advice. My toilet innards broke and I had a slight leak on the water inlet, between the copper water pipe and the inlet valve. I have a replacement set, and have replaced the innards, but it is still leaking. I suspect it is down to the seal inside the top of the copper...
I have just had a new combi boiler (Worcester 36 CDi Compact) fitted as a replacement for my trusty Worcester 350 Combi. The system was powerflushed as well (with a Magnacleanse filter on the machine, though it didn't take as long as I'd have expected: about 3 hours for a 13-rad system). A...

Can anyone help with how to adjust float on a Flomasta Bottom Inlet Brass Shank Fill Valve as there is no screw. its from screwfix. its been overflowing. many thanks.
I'm not well up on Flowmaster unvented cylinders, but I have one that's dripping fast. A couple of months ago it was dripping occasionally, apparently only when it was being heated but I'm now sure this was really the case. At that time I assumed the T+P, as the expansion was well below pressure...
Hi,
Appreciate any help with this please.
All of a sudden my toilet has started to leak from inlet valve
pipe thread where it goes into the bottom of the cistern bowl.
I tried to seal it with fornex lsx by putting it on the thread which
has stopped it but now the leak has moved to the flexi-hose...
put fornex ls-x on upper part of thread of cistern pipe where flexi connect to cistern inlet pipe
and now water leaks out of the collar part of the flexihose below its nut so do you think flexi hose has the leak
measured thread that flexi connects to on cistern pipe and seems to be 25mm
not sure...
Hi,
Is there any advantage / disadvantage of a bottom inlet over a side inlet on a concealed cistern? Looking at a Grohe Adagio model if that makes any difference which will be housed in a 600x300 cabinet.
Also is a dual flush option of any real use? Does anybody ever really use the 3L option...
Hi Guys,
Looking at fitting a new bathroom. We have found Roca laura WC at a reasonable price and we like the look of it.
However I am struggling to find out if the push button cistern (6/3lt) is bottom inlet and which side the inlet is on.
I called Roca and they told me it can be either side...
Hi, looking for some advice. I've had 6 horizontal column radiators installed and some heat up faster than others. I removed one to decorate behind and noticed there are sticky labels showing the inlet/outlet top and back. Out of the 6 only 2 have been installed as the labels say and the rest...
