    Gas inlet pressure

Looking just to see anyone's view on a situation where the gas boiler is performing as to all manufacturers stated combustion readings and gas rate but has 16.5 mbar inlet working pressure. What's your views on gas industries unsafe situations procedure relevant to this?

Symptoms and problems associated with low inlet working pressure (forced draught).

Alright? i've been wondering. we're all hell bent on getting the correct minimum inlet working pressure at appliances, all the more so it seems as many more of us tend to be more and more concerned in meeting the requirements for seemingly bigger and bigger combis in an environment of ever...

    ideal logic/independent c 30 inlet working pressure

i have been reading various threads about apparant pressure loss when measured on the gas valve ( underneath the boiler nr yellow lever). I have not managed to get more than 19 mb despite oversizing the gas pipes. thought that at some time i would get banged up in prison for this. Do I...

Ideal Logic - low gas rate causes

Hi, This is the first 30kw logic that I have fitted this one is giving me that is giving a low reading on gas rating. It is measuring 2.94m3/hr compared to 3.13m3/hr in the MI. - checked more than once. Inlet OP pressure measured on the test point is 18.5mbar, meter OP is 21mbar. Ideal have...

Ideal Logic - low inlet working pressure

I have issue with the Ideal Independent 30 - rated at 33.7kw gross (30.4 nett) The working pressure at the meter is 21mbar, and at the test point on the isolation valve only 18mbar. Clearly over the 1mbar drop allowed in BS6891. The MI mentions a pressure drop between the external gas cock...

just over 5mb working pressure on inlet on a vaillant turbomax 282........

......but 21mb at meter with a pipe run of 22mm for about 5m with 4 elbows and 0.5m of 15mm into boiler!! could this be a faulty gas valve rather than a pipe sizing issue? any thoughts lads? don't think its a regulator problem as its 20mb at the meter when boiler is on.

    Suspected pipe blockage

Hi, I've recently moved into a new house with an LPG central heating system part of which feeds a Myson Kickspace 500 heater in the kitchen. The fan blows fine when you set it to cold but won't run when set on "heat". Having looked under the kitchen cabinets where the plumbing is and felt the...

Don't forget to check the working inlet pressure!

Not that I did, but just thought I would mention it, after checking the inlet working pressure at the boiler hundereds of times without a fault, today I installed a boiler, inlet pressure 25mb, fire the boiler up and pressure drops to 14mb. So I check at the meter, 25mb standing, fire boiler up...

    Leaking cistern inlet tap connector

Hi I've just replaced the ball float valve in my side entry toilet cistern but when I've reconnected it there is a leak where the tap connector meets the plastic thread. I'm not sure why. Could it be just that the connector isn't quite straight to the plastic thread of the float valve or does...

    22mm gas inlet & a 15mm supply

I'mm looking at buying a worcester bosch Greenstar 12ri boiler, the technical docs for the boiler say it requires a 22mm gas supply pipe, however the existing supply is only 15mm, it must be stepped down somewhere between the meter & the boiler. Pulling up floors/kitchen etc is not an option so...

New Gas Cooker- how do I describe this!!?

Hi all, I have just purchased a new gas cooker and my plumber is asking me to let him know the type of fitting so he can get the hose on his way..... Now, my old cooker looks simple, an inlet with threads to take a 1/2" hose. This new one has the inlet, but with what looks to be...

Thread size on radiator inlet and valve

I recently purchased a new towel rail but could not fit the two valves [Thermostatic and on/off] as the threads on the valve and radiator did not match up. The valves were purchased separately from the radiator but I did not see this as an issue. The on-line supplying company is sending a...

    DHW inlet problem?

Our boiler plumbing started making a strange noise this evening. (Ideal Logic Combi) Noise is like a vibration sort of noise, disappears as soon as the hot water tap is turned on. Remains if boiler is switched off. Heating on makes no difference to noise. Noise disappears if I close DHW inlet...
