The English modal verbs are a subset of the English auxiliary verbs used mostly to express modality (properties such as possibility, obligation, etc.). They can be distinguished from other verbs by their defectiveness (they do not have participle or infinitive forms) and by their neutralization (that they do not take the ending -(e)s in the third-person singular).
The principal English modal verbs are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, and must. Certain other verbs are sometimes, but not always, classed as modals; these include ought, had better, and (in certain uses) dare and need. Verbs which share only some of the characteristics of the principal modals are sometimes called "quasi-modals", "semi-modals", or "pseudo-modals".

Hi there.
I got this shower from b and q and the shower head holder is slipping. My plumber put it in so I don't know how it fits together and I can't get it off ( I don't want to force it). I am guessing that the top or bottom bracket will come off. I asked at b and q but they couldn't help...
Hi. I posted a few weeks ago because after my central heating system was drained and leaking valves repaired, I could hear the sound of water gushing and coursing through my rads and pipes. The really helpful forum advice was that there must be air in the system and to keep bleeding the rads...
Hi
A family member accidentally let out too much air when she was bleeding the radiators this morning which prompted an Error 08e on the ravenheat cs80/90 display and no hot water or heating throughout the house. Reading advice online, I was told to press the reset button on the panel however...

There is a pressure meter near the feed...
Hi all, I hope you can help please?
I am having real difficulty finding soft close D-shape toilet seats which accommodate a gap of 270mm between the hinge screws. I have checked on plumbing sites, Amazon, eBay with no joy - even the adjustable ones just don't seem to allow a gap that wide.
Any...

Just a 'Heads Up'.
Condensate from Condensing Boilers MUST NOT be drained into Foul Drains when a septic tank or sewage treatment plant is part of the foul drainage system. The condensate kills the bacteria in the tanks due to its high acidity and the sewage treatment stops working.

This is a job I've done before. Once you remove the cap and screw the handle should pull off but this one is firmly stuck in place. I've tried gentle heat and also reasonable force. It's a soft water area so limescale shouldn't be a problem. Any suggestions?
A plumber has installed a Tavistock Ion open backed closed coupled WC in my bathroom. This is part of a full bathroom refurbishment so the plumber has installed the above floor soil pipe from the soil stack. The plumber has also routed pipes below the suspended weyroc floor. There is no electric...
