3 port

DisplayPort (DP) is a digital display interface developed by a consortium of PC and chip manufacturers and standardized by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). It is primarily used to connect a video source to a display device such as a computer monitor. It can also carry audio, USB, and other forms of data.DisplayPort was designed to replace VGA, FPD-Link, and Digital Visual Interface (DVI). It is backward compatible with other interfaces, such as HDMI and DVI, through the use of either active or passive adapters.
It is the first display interface to rely on packetized data transmission, a form of digital communication found in technologies such as Ethernet, USB, and PCI Express. It permits the use of internal and external display connections. Unlike legacy standards that transmit a clock signal with each output, its protocol is based on small data packets known as micro packets, which can embed the clock signal in the data stream, allowing higher resolution using fewer pins. The use of data packets also makes it extensible, meaning more features can be added over time without significant changes to the physical interface.DisplayPort can be used to transmit audio and video simultaneously, although each can be transmitted without the other. The video signal path can range from six to sixteen bits per color channel, and the audio path can have up to eight channels of 24-bit, 192 kHz uncompressed PCM audio. A bidirectional, half-duplex auxiliary channel carries device management and device control data for the Main Link, such as VESA EDID, MCCS, and DPMS standards. The interface is also capable of carrying bidirectional USB signals. The interface uses an LVDS signal protocol that is not compatible with DVI or HDMI. However, dual-mode DisplayPort ports are designed to transmit a single-link DVI or HDMI protocol (TMDS) across the interface through the use of an external passive adapter, enabling compatibility mode and converting the signal from 3.3 to 5 volts. For analog VGA/YPbPr and dual-link DVI, a powered active adapter is required for compatibility and does not rely on dual mode. Active VGA adapters are powered directly by the DisplayPort connector, while active dual-link DVI adapters typically rely on an external power source such as USB.

Hot water trickles into F+E tank when 3 port valve is in Mid position.

Went into the loft to put some stuff away and noticed that there was water trickling into the F+E tank via the expansion pipe. I drained the system down and added Sentinel cleaner which I left for a few days to work its magic. I drained down again and added Sentinel inhibitor but the problem...

    Sunvic 3 port valve

Hi ... I'm changing a 3 port Sunvic valve (MK1453). I've read that instead of replacing the body you can replace just the inners as this is held by 4 screws. If this is possible, will the system need to be drained first or is there a 'shortcut' ? Thanks in advance for any replies.

3 port valve - which way is flow?

Is there any standard convention for which ports of a valve are open in relation to the flat on the valve spindle? I have a 3 port zone valve (unknown make/model), controlled by an actuator. The actuator linkage broke and, now that I am replacing it, I can't fathom out which position it should...

    3 port valve problem.

Open coal fire which supplies hot water and feeds the radiators. Fitted is an Altech 3 port valve model No.ALTHC011, which is only 3-4 years old. Problem started a few days back, and it seems that only the hot water tank is receiving hot water from the boiler. (Baxi 3 sided boiler) Examining...

2 Port valve + 3 Port mid position valve on same setup

Hey everyone, Had some work done to convert our hot water system to pressurised one. Well the chap installed a new 2 port valve and kept the original 3 port mid position valve in. To me that is a pointless thing to do as to me as surely its two valves in series to one another? The...
