Snap-on tools

Can somebody please tell me why snap-on tools are so expensive? Was just looking on e-bay and even second-hand is over the top!

not sure but I believe they come with a full lifetime guarantee!! had a mechanic friend who brought a roll top only to find some knackered tools sent them back to snap on and got shiny ones back!!

I think there is a little bit of Louis Vuitton too,

But IMO I prefer bahco.

Hi,

Snap-on tools are top quality usa made and are quaranteed for life im aware of.Quality equipment always command a high price.Personally i woundnt go out an spend a bucket load of cash on them.Maybe the odd tool.......

Snap on will generally be of no interest to plumbers or boiler men. We don't need that standard of quality guarantee for all we would be using a spanner or socket for and the tools they make which we would use (pump /groove pliers) are junk compared to others.

High 2nd hand market can be a nuisance .

I have smashed up a few marples lifetime guarantee splitproof chisels (they cant take a 4lb hammer) and i even snapped the head off an Estwing

we had nearly a full roller cabinet full nicked in the 90's still find my 1/4'' drive great for mono knuts due to the micro gears.

you need a mate in a grarge then , i pick them up off car boots quid hear ten bob there etc only had to pass one back my mate like put come foloowing weekend i had a nice new one

I have a good few snap on tools and tha only draw back is loosing them or them being stolen, I have to disagree with tamz on the pliers though as I have got a pair of 14" pump pliers that have never failed to get an immersion element out
