We have recently moved into a property which has a Worcester Greenstar Highflow 440 Standalone Combi gas boiler. This appears to be a relatively old unit however, it is still in great working condition and has been serviced on a regular basis.

I'd like to add a Nest Thermostat to control the heating. The thermostat is on the control panel and it's not the most intuitive or convenient thing to use.

I requested six quotes from the Google Nest site to have it installed and only got one reply. The person who replied never showed up on the day they said they would unfortunately.

A few friends have mentioned that it should be fairly straightforward to fit the Nest. I'm just a bit apprehensive with messing with the control panel.

I was wondering if anyone has installed a smart thermostat on a standalone Combi Boiler like this and if it is indeed, reasonably straightforward?

I've circled the control panel and taken photo of the wiring. Is there anyhting out of the ordinary here or should I just be patient and wait for a Nest engineer and just keep requesting quotes until someone comes? It's probably a 15-30 minute job and the £120 I was quoted seems a bit much. I don't need the thermostat wall mounted, nor do I need a crash course on how to use it (we used one for six years before house move).

Really appreciate any help. Thank you!

It's really not that hard to do.
I'm surprised you haven't had found anyone available to do the job.

Contact Nest directly and ask them why none of their installers want to install their product on you boiler?

Yes it's puzzling why only one company bothered replying and they weren't reliable either. I've posted another thread about his in more detail as I think I will just do it myself, but will only do if I'm 100% sure of it. It's on the electricians forum which I did not know was linked to this plumbers forum!

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
