Good Afternoon,

Just purchased my first house, It's a 1910 cottage.

The current "stopcock" for the water supply does not work and even when turned completely off the taps still run. The amount of water coming through is much lower.

I obviously need to replace the stop. How do I do this because i am unable to stop the water supply up to the stop?

Thanks in advance,

There will be an external stopcock out in the street which will have a lid that lifts with a screwdriver or anything for leverage.....if your really lucky it won't be filled with mud and you'll be able to turn it of with a stopcock key....

If you cant find an external stop tap, and you feel confident , you could buy a freezing kit and replace it , but you have to know what you are doing , failing that get one of us in .
