Pipes used for drinking water

Hi, can you use ptfe to repair cold water pipes used for drinking water, the reason i ask is somebody told me that ptfe is non potable, what other material can you use to repair pipes used for drinking water other than ptfe or brazed connections?

start asking different people for advice, ptfe is fine, dont use leaded solder tho for potable water joints
