I would say the insulation is pushing down on the plastic pipe causing it to be touching the joists / rafters and thus causing your noise

They need clipping

Thanks. The noise was there before the insulation was put in but I think you're correct. None of the pipes appeared to be clipped down. At least when I was in the loft I didn't see them clipped anywhere. I may have to have another look. Would have expected this done as part of the heating system install mind. Thanks for your help!
 
Yea and that's why the noise is louder as the insulation is pushing them down into the timbers
