Hi, my mains inlet and stopcock are in the downstairs toilet. There is a copper pipe that runs floor to ceiling with a T off to the cistern and another T to an outside tap. The whole pipework suffers from condensation and is dripping slowly onto the laminate floor.

Would simply insulating the pipes solve this or would they still get damp on the inside of the insulation?

Cheers in advance...

Insulating them should do it or ensuring there is some ventilation or reducing the heat in there would help. The mains is full of very cold water and it is 'piped' into a room that is at room temp or has additional moisture, hence condensation!

Cheers to you both, insulation on its way then...

****, with regards to reducing the temp in there, it's cold enough that you wish you'd left your pants up when you sit on the toilet seat!?! It's just that the mains water is colder still!
