Hi All,

Thanks for taking a look at this. I currently have a massive condensation patch on the inside of my wall behind my gas meter (Pics attached.) The box lock is damaged and the seal around the enclosure has perished so ideally I would like to replace the box, however my understanding is that I will have to have the gas supplier out to disconnect the supply and then have someone else swap it out.

There are a couple of tiny holes in the brick work which I will patch but I think that is unlikely to be the cause.

The other cause I thought it could be was the cool air making it's way around the outside of the box, since it isn't sealed. I was going to seal this with sealant to see if it improves.

What are your thoughts/ suggestions if you were in this situation?

Many thanks,
Ed

Either the damp is running down the cavity and out inside when it hits the box or it's getting in through the top of the existing box.

This is the simplest solution to a damaged box; (https//meterboxesnow.com/gas-meter-boxes/Meter-Box-Cover-OverBox)

I bought meter box cover & over box, i did the gas and electric boxes. Remove the door from the existing box and this box cover goes over the top. Available on Amazon, eBay etc, easy to find on Google.

Before and after photos below.

Edit - see post above for link
