I'm currently refitting my bathroom and have added another rad and a power shower. Everything seemed fine during the leak tests but today when I turn on the hot water the input to the hot water cylinder (the top one) gets hot but the bottom one doesn't...

I also replaced the cold water storage tank for a 50 gallon one which is the only other thing I've done to the system.

Is this an air lock in the coil?

Or a blockage?

What other possible reasons could there be for this?

The system is a simple gravity fed hot water system.

Any help or advice or suggested tests would be much appreciated! :)

Ta,

Chris.

Probably an air lock I reckon.
Drain and refill slowly might do the trick.
