hi all i got the above boiler and it was showing a E34 fault code. ive changed the air pressure switch but when i turn the hot tap on it fires up then goes out agin and then showes the e34 again.

any idears whats wrong? i thought it was the air pressure switch as the e34 code is the air pressure switch code!

any help would be very very helpfull

thanks

Sounds like you're down the lines of flue flow issues sav. Is the flue clear outside, no plants, birds or bees taken roost? Does the boiler light and run okay with the case front off then cut out with the front on? Is the APS tube intact, no holes or splits? Lots to check regards APS sav!

hi mate yep done all the checks i take the cover off and it works ok put the cover back on and e34 starts, take the cover off and turn the boiler off then back on and off we go again. im getting a bit stumped lol flue seems clear cant find any probs with the flue or the hoses to the aps! :banghead:

are you sure ? sometimes the flue has a reducer that gives you this fault, take it out..

other things are venturi, try testing the air switch while in use with the cover on, then you'll know for sure if its the airswitch thats making it go off, maybe not in your case as its clear this time the air switch is working, its something related to the switch that isnt right

take the ring out of the recuperator and put it in the bin theres your fault not the aps

no take the fan out and remove the restrictor ring just inside the recuperator and bin it,ariston technical will tell you to do the same

ok whats the restrictor ring look like? is it rubber or metal? not had this problem before and before you ask im GSR lol

its normally pushed in from the top isnt it ? taking the flue elbow off and you should see it.. ?

I had to remove recuperator and flue bend to get to it, if recuperator is loose then the bend can come out, if you can't get it out already

not always its sometimes there but mainly in the recuperator its easy enough to get out either way tbh
