went to a property today , had a solid fuel boiler, from it 4 pipes (2x28 & 2 x 22) , the 2 22 pipes going to do the central heating with a pump on them , and the 2 28 pipes going to the cylinder, these pipes had 2 stats on them and no pump , one on the flow set at 60degree and one on the return set at 5 degree, can anybody tell me what these are for?? , the complain the lady had was that when she does a fire, the rads come straight on , even if the immersion heater has been off and there is no hot water, could it be a wiring fault as it has never worked???? has anybody got a wiring diagram for these????????? much tanks again!

they are probably hi and low stats. To turn on the heating pump when the flow temp gets to high to remove some heat and to stop the central heating pump turning on with the return temp to low to avoid thermal shock which can cause corrosion in the heat exchanger.
