Hi everybody, I’m installing a French drain at my property. I know how to do it, just don’t know how would be best to locate it. My lawn is a dog leg as seen in the attached image. The lawn will be as flat as possible once installed (with no slope). Would it be best to run multiple French drains...
Just bought a house and the bathroom is 17+ years old - the shower valve is broken and if we can't find a replacement we'll be stuck with it until we rip the whole thing out. Not ideal when it's great condition otherwise.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to locate exactly where my main line enters the house (inside the walls, not the slab etc..) i need to cut and cap it because i have already diverted it. Previous concrete renos have hidden the straight line from the main valve straight to the house, now i cannot see...
My cistern is in a perpetual over flow state due to the cut off valve not working. I think I have narrowed it down to the cut off arm (see photo) but where can I source a replacement?
Hi. I am having a new kitchen designed and installed and need some advice about whether what I wish to do would work well enough.
Currently my freestanding washing machine is in the corner of my kitchen, next to an outside wall. The plumbing and standpipe are right next to it, so it all works...
I recently changed a countertop in my kitchen and while doing so took the opportunity to check the incoming water pipe that's hidden behind the cabinets, while doing so I noticed something that seemed odd, the incoming water pipe seems to split 3 times after the stopcock, the first split leads...
I have obtained a 1922 Crane Drainboard Sink and am looking for the sink drain assembly, retaining nut, strainer, or replacement. I have attached photos of the sink and drain and greatly appreciate any assistance.
Hello.
Our boiler is a combi, installed 2 years ago. Ground floor, above stopcock. No general concerns about the boiler itself, but there is a giant wet patch nearby that seems to have quickly grown, which points to a leak. There is no water damage on any other wall, and I have not lost water...
I am about to insulate a suspended timber groundfloor in a 1930s semi. The joists are 2"x5" with about 400mm of air space below. The pipes currently run below the floor, and the pipework is a mess, with very little insulation. As I need to reroute pipes anyway, am I best running them between the...
Hi,
I need to drain my F & E heating system so I can replace some TRV's and radiators, however, I am struggling to locate a drain valve downstairs (inside or outside) to connect a hosepipe to. The only valve I can see on my downstairs radiators is like the one shown in the picture.
Can anyone...
Hi everyone
I was under the assumption that my flat was mains fed throughout but the water company said "We supply cold water to your cold kitchen tap".
So my question is where does the water come from to supply water to the hot water taps in the bathroom and hot water tap in the kitchen?
I...
Please can someone help identify what style this is, or where I can find a replacement? One of the bungs on the base has worn off so it doesn't work properly anymore. I can't find this style anywhere!
Hi All,
I need to replace two radiators in on of my rooms. The size does not seem to be available from normal suppliers. I think it is an imperial size 32 wide by 16" high. I need to replace as they are not in great condition around the threads. You might see the corrosion in the image I will...
Been stuck abroad for a year now. Still stuck abroad. Italian red tape is, as they say, 'something else'. I used to think regulation was about protecting people, and often it is, but not over here. Mad country, not sure how it functions at all. They ask you to provide government mapping...
Anyone know where to get connectors to fit a plate exchanger? It looks to be 3/4 BSPP. Not even sure what the couplers are called, but I imagine something like those that are on water meters (or pumps), with flat rubber gaskets so that the exchanger can be easily removed.
The company I work for has recently opened a training centre based in Southampton. We cover domestic gas ACS reaccreditation and have availability up until Dec 2022 currently.
The attached flyer has the price information for the reassessments, we also offer upskill to the elements we offer...
Originally purchased at Tradelink in 2009, Orbit Hand Shower System 5 with Overhead Shower and Hand Piece. I believe it was a Caroma product. See from the image and video the mixer and outlet are part of the shower rail and if we cant find a replacement it will be a huge task to replace, meaning...
