A torch is a stick with combustible material at one end, which is ignited and used as a light source. Torches have been used throughout history, and are still used in processions, symbolic and religious events, and in juggling entertainment. In some countries "torch" in modern usage is the term for a battery-operated portable light.

    Folks, I'm looking to buy a new gas torch and want a very reliable torch that can be used for both soldering and brazing, works upside down, etc. Main focus is on reliability, so for all you professionals out there, what torches would you recommend as one that never lets you down, etc.

    disconnecting gas from torch

    how many of you remove the gas bottle from the torch when you put it back in the van after a job? Just wondering since doing mainly half to 1 day jobs at the moment and am getting sick of removing the bottle all the time.
