still
A still is an apparatus used to distill liquid mixtures by heating to selectively boil and then cooling to condense the vapor. A still uses the same concepts as a basic distillation apparatus, but on a much larger scale. Stills have been used to produce perfume and medicine, water for injection (WFI) for pharmaceutical use, generally to separate and purify different chemicals, and to produce distilled beverages containing ethanol.
Hi all, newbe here. Just replaced a o ring on the ideal isar he30 boiler diverter valve manifold and all went great but now the boiler displays 0 on the panel but the radiators are still getting warm when switched off. Has anyone got any ideas what is going on, cheers,
Question for the plumbers turned gas engineers.
Do you still carry out plumbing repairs, bathroom installations, etc. I still do but getting fed up of being stuck on a bathroom job and losing the gas work as I'm fully booked. Been gas safe for around 5 years now.
Took someone on to do the...

Hi all, I have no knowledge when it comes to plumbing so will describe our situation best I can...
A few months ago, our bath tap began to leak. No matter how hard we turned the taps off (which we later learnt causes further damage) it would still leak, and gradually got worse over time. We...
Tried running the hot tap then checking to see what the water temp of the drip was after and it was cold so to me that means the leak is from the cold water valve side. Replaced the cold water ceramic disc cartridge but the drip is still there (even when I turn off the mains but don't fancy...

I need to replace the stopcock on an old mains water pipe. The house is about 60 years old, the pipes OD is 30mm, my local plum centre said they had no parts available to do this. The old stopcock is leaking and seized solid. Any advice about where I can get the parts to fix the problem would...
Good afternoon!
Is there any chance I can still find this model of bracket slider somewhere or is it way too old?
https://www.showerdoc.com/newteam-spirit-rail-bracket-slider-white-sp-280-0590-wt
I broke it today and I don't want to change everything just yet.
Thank you.
I have a Dorf mixer tap that is leaking from the body. A plumber has replaced the cartridge but it is still leaking when the tap is turned off.
Do these taps have other parts that need replacing? Suggestions would be most welcome.
Regards, Lyn
Hello,
I changed the hot tap cartridge on my quarter turn tap about 1 year ago. I changed the discs and washer of the same hot tap cartridge in June of this year but it is still dripping.
Is there anything else I can try do stop it dripping?
Any help would be much appreciated
Morning all,
I've recently cleaned my F&E, microbore central heating system using Sentinel X400 and this led to the cold rads heating up again, so a success in that respect*. Now, after a week of the X400 circulating, today I cleaned the F&E tank again (much cleaner water), drained down the...
The tap was leaking from its body (under the 2-way swivel handle; where you access the big brass nut and the cartridge) when turned ON more that a little bit. I've replaced the cartridge and it leaks in same way.
It doesn't drip from the spout nor leak when turned off. So, as far as I can see...
Not to current standards
If you still use it, how do you record it? Just on LGSR? - talking of which do you fill out/use any paperwork/digital forms for gas work? Or is it just an invoice?
NCS: does it still exist?
Same issue and I'd really appreciate the help.
In a system like this, or something else you can suggest, how would the buffer tank be enabled to provide its stored heat without the boiler/heat pump consuming energy to create heat?
Please advise.
Thanks.
In April 2018 I had a water meter installed at my tenancy property (Not a property magnate, just had to move out of the area and couldn't sell it) the same time I had a new Greenstar 30i boiler, stopcock and old back boiler and immersion tank removed.
There is a small pass noticeable through...

Been asked by a cust to fit this , isn't it a permanent pilot .
I know they a slowly making water heaters obsolete..
Main Balanced Flue (BF) Water Heater
the PRV has been replaced twice in the past few months and this seems to cure the leak temporarily, however the leak is now worse and is clearly caused by a different problem. The pressure gauge rises quickly upto 3 bars, (we release the pressure manually) but then when the heating/water is off...
