softener
A fabric softener (American English) or fabric conditioner (British English) is a conditioner that is applied to laundry during the rinse cycle in a washing machine to reduce harshness in clothes that are dried in air after machine washing. In contrast to laundry detergents, fabric softeners may be regarded as a kind of after-treatment laundry aid.A wrinkle releaser is a similar, more dilute preparation meant to be sprayed onto fabric directly.
I'm looking for some advice about a faulty install of a water softener I've had done. I had it installed under my stairs, which is where the stopcock is. For the waste, the "plumber" ran a hosepipe through the wall then under my kitchen units then out the wall at the end into the drain. It's...
So a custard of mine had a water softener fitted prior to his kitchen tap which is the only outlet on mains.
He wants a single tap fitted before the softener so he has unfiltered cold mains to drink.
The only place this can be done is by fitting a tap onto a kitchen worktop with no sink. Is...
I have had a pressurised system (Megaflow) installed and am very happy with it. I had to call a plumber in recently for another issue and he commented on signs of scale building up in the toilet pan. He advised installation of a cracker on the rising main to reduce sediment without having to...

Im thinking maybe an intergas?
Can the new Baxi ecoblue be fitted on a water softener.
It is not possible to run a new hard mains to the loft.
Thanks in advance.
Waiting for a few quotes to come in for my new boiler, one of which is an Ideal. However, they appear to be the only company who insist that you are not allowed to use a water softener to let ANY soft water go round ANY part of their boilers otherwise you invalidate the warranty (unless it's off...

I was at a property last week doing a job...
The customer asked me whilst I was up in the roof space to drop a Harvey's salt block into his cold water storage tank!!
I was pretty surprised, but he reckons it does the same job of a softener without the expensive machine lol!!! He reckoned it...

Customer wants a water softener fitted. Problem is kitchen sink doesn't back onto outside wall or any other drainage other then 1 1/2 sink waste. Has anyone ever ran waste and overflow pipe into this waste rather then finding separate outside drainage before? Thanks

Hi all,
Really useful forum you've got here!
I'm looking at installing a water softener as we live in a pretty hard-water area (I've become quite the expert in fitting electric showers over the past year and a half!)
We already have one of those Brita under-sink filter units that supplies...
Just received an email from Harvey asking me to go on one of their training days. Could get a free water softener. It says there are terms and conditions. Has anyone been on this course and found out what these terms are
Hi,
I had a Monarch Water softener fitted about 2 years ago. My bathroom is still not limescale free, the stored hot water still tests as hard. If I test the cold feed from the softener that shows as softened, but the stored hot water always shows a being hard, if not as hard as the unsoftened...

Hi
We need a water softener fitted at home as the water is way too hard and causing limescale everywhere and even blocked the kitchen tap, God knows what it's doing to the new boiler....
Harvey water softeners gave us a quote for £1500 (that's paid in instalments) it sounds a bit too high...

Depending on what the solution is, you may also be required to install it as well.

I got a water softening system fitted today and only noticed after it was all complete and the installer had left, that the pipe that takes away the backwash water is feeding into my soil stack vent pipe at the back of the house.
I will contact the installers on Monday, but in the meantime does...
