Hi everyone,
My mother-in-laws cistern has started to make a loud noise when it is filling up. When she turns on the tap in the bathroom, the noise stops.
Do the pipes just need padding wrapped round them to stop them vibrating? Or do you think its something else.
Any help will be...

Our glow worm gas boiler, when it has been running for an hour or so, every so often makes an enormous rattling noise in the pipes above the boiler that sounds like boiling. I think it is also spurting water out of the header tank overflow. Is this cavitation and what can we do about it?
Thanks

Have been getting vibrating sounds from the casing of my Potterton Profile 50e, which seem to occur every 15-30 minutes, and more frequent at times. Gas Engineer has taken a look and has trace the problem to the vertical flue which appears to be corroded. Unfortunately he reckons that he cannot...

Hi all,
I've read somewhere that a drop of silicon grease helps for instance when replacing the "o" ring in a mixer tap. Does anyone use the stuff? If so which type?

I have a noisy Grundfos central heating pump. It rattles sometimes.
If I undo the big screw in the middle of the pump, there is the sound of a puff of air, (in or out, I don't know) and then on restart the pump is quiet, for a while---then it starts rattling again!
How do I fix this...
