How can I reduce the sound of the soil pipe from my bathroom? Whenever someone uses the loo etc it sounds like a waterfall. I think most of the noise is from when it gets to the bottom? Any suggestions?
Hi chaps.
I’d like to change the bearings in the burner motor of my Worcester Heatslave 20/25, and I’m just looking for a few helpful hints. I’m okay with changing the actual motor bearings (6202 ZZ’s) as the engineers at work have offered to pull and press the replacements.
I think...
We are considering installing a megaflo system as part of our bathroom upgrade. The water pressure is 2.8 bar. The plumber will have to install the cylinder into a cupboard which has 2 outside walls but is accessed through a door in one of the bedrooms. Is there any noise associated with...

upon inspection the boiler was ok but there was a noise akin to water hammer, put a screwdriver to the flow pipe and it was vibrating....

I was reading the earlier post about a noisy pump on a 28 duotec. Thought I'd ask as it was mentioned in that post, I love these bad boys, fitted loads but have had a rattleling in what sounds like the flow switch when hot tap open in one. I've ignored it as it's in a loft and can't be heard...

I have WB R30 HE combi boiler 10 yrs old. It started making a high pitched whining noise about 4 weeks ago. I bled all the radiators, I balanced them also. Noise still there when CH on. Noise coming from pump. CH and water were working. Metal outlet pipe then started leaking/dripping...
I have an Ideal HE15 which started banging this morning when the timer turned the heating OFF.
If I turn the heating ON via the programmer the banging stops.
I have cleaned the condensate trap.
Any advice appreciated.
Hello all.
We live in a 1937 property that had an extension built in the 1990's. Whilst building the extension, the soil pipe was converted into an air admittance valve system. The pipe runs through the house and the vent can be seen about a metre high in the loft. All of our upstairs pipework...

Hi
I have a combi system with a Worcester Bosch boiler which is 12 years old. Lately it has become noisy with banging or popping and I understand this could be either air bubbles or scale (I live in a hard water area) hitting the heat exchanger. It is now waking me up in a morning when the...
Hi, I have a noisy pump on my central heating, and the system has some very cool radiators and some warm one's.
The problem with the pump has been getting worse over the last 4 weeks, My question is, if the pump stops altogether is it dangerous with the heating running?
We rent our home and...
No it's not the pump, but it IS horizontal instead of vertical- needs to change right? Pipe is also installed in the wall! OMG !
I think not supported or insulated or insulation has died.. wall now acts as a sound board... needless to say driving her crazy.... for years??? Plus, the pump also...
Any advice on this would be much appreciated as i don't know how to make progress. The boiler(Vaillant ecotec plus 831) is around 4 years old. The problem started between about 18 months to 2 years ago. The boiler functions perfectly well both heating and hot water but maybe two, three, four...
Hi All,
My Potterton Suprima fan in the boiler is making a bit of noise which I can now hear in the living room, my thoughts are that it's probably clogged wit dust and needs some spray on grease on the bearing to quieten it down. Am I aloud to do this my self or only a gas fitter ? If I am OK...

Hi Forum,
We've moved into a house with a WB Greenstar 37 CDi boiler installed in the attic and we have a few issue with the heating system, that may be interrelated:
When CH is on, the boiler appears to be 'cycling' continuously between hot and low temperatures. It heats up to 90°, then...
Hi my washing machine (hotpoint aqua) is coming 5 years old but its suddenly gone very noisy during spin cycle!
It rumbles and churns, quick google suggested check its not vibrating against wall and the feet are level. Have tried this but no joy I think the drum bearings maybe the fault ?
Does...
