failed
Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. The criteria for failure depends on context, and may be relative to a particular observer or belief system. One person might consider a failure what another person considers a success, particularly in cases of direct competition or a zero-sum game. Similarly, the degree of success or failure in a situation may be differently viewed by distinct observers or participants, such that a situation that one considers to be a failure, another might consider to be a success, a qualified success or a neutral situation.
It may also be difficult or impossible to ascertain whether a situation meets criteria for failure or success due to ambiguous or ill-defined definition of those criteria. Finding useful and effective criteria, or heuristics, to judge the success or failure of a situation may itself be a significant task.
Desperate to sort this chaps. I’ve installed a boss strap today and the bloody thing is leaking. I glued it as normal and cleaned it up so I’m unsure what the issue is. Any advice for the easiest fix please?
Hi
I've just had my annual maintenance check on my boiler (in title), it will be 8 years old in May this year and is (I think) still under guarantee as I get it checked annually with British Gas (they installed it and said the guarantee would be extended until it is 10yr old if I kept the annual...
Is there any reason other than poor element. Why an immersion heater would fail 4 months after fitting on an unvented cylinder? Apparently it has power too it etc. Thanks. It isn't the original one either.
I have now had both my Danfoss HPA02 valves fail (hot water and central heating on an S plan). It is easy enough to replace the heads, but the failure mode in both cases has been the micro switch failing to open once the call for heat was removed.
With the heating, we were away and came back to...
Gas line for dryer coming out of wall about 3" and runs about 2' along wall then elbows along furnace. Inspector failed and wants specs on stack washer/dryer. Will not return calls, not sure what to do. We took out water lines and vent - no washer/dryer for that room.
I have a Vaillant Turbomax Plus boiler, fitted in 2005. Recently it's locked out several times due to low pressure, which prompted me to check the expansion vessel. When I pressed the Schrader valve I found that water, rather than air, was released. That suggests to me a failure of the...
I have a central heating with storage tank system. I woke this morning to what sounded like running water, although no taps were turned on.
I went to my boiler room in the basement and the pressure valve was reading 10 psi and water was running out via the pressure release valve outlet. I turned...
I had a small sink in the corner of a room I’m using and it was in the way so I removed it. I cut the hot and cold pipes and went and bought something to cap them with. At the DIY shop I bought two of these little plastic end caps shown in the picture that seal using the pressure in the pipe...

Hi all,
I am looking for some advise on a replacement combi boiler for the powermax 155x.
B/g have been out and and failed it due to spillage from the burner i believe.
It is in a internal cupboard 10mtr from an external wall.
I unsure at this moment if it can be moved to an external wall so...
Hi
I previously had only one heat element working and saw a previous posting stating that there were known PCB issues with this boiler.
Since then the boiler has failed self test and now has an error 3 (all heaters failed). I'm trying to work out whether this is a PCB fault or a tri-core...
The cold water expansion vessel (24l) of a three-year-old system has failed and my plumber says that it must be because it was too small for the 300l hot water tank and proposes to instal an additional vessel for safety (as well as replacing the failed vessel). The manufacturers (Geminox) say...

However the gas fire (which vents through the same flue as the boiler failed the spillage test.
Looking at it it...
