plastic pipe inserts

Hi all
Can anyone tell me if it's ok to use floplast 15mm pipe inserts with speedfit pipe.

i wouldn't. it's best to stick to the same make otherwise if a failure occurs the manufacturers have a very large get out clause.

If there is a problem with it mr guest won't be backing you up. On the plus side inserts are no more than 20p (is it worth the risk)?
My advice is to do it properly in copper and end feed!

Ita hard to say if it would have an effect, our merchants supplies the stainless steel polypipe sleeves and the black plastic ones so if one manufacturer supplies two types of sleeves i cant see there being a huge amount of difference, having said that i wouldnt chance having your reputation tarnished by a "oh i,ll chance it" moment.

Pull more of the pipe through the wall until you can see a makers mark. :ciappa:

No, not under any circumstances.

lets be honest here, a 15mm insert is a 15mm insert they are all the same diameter and all do the same job, only bad thing is if anything happens your not covered

The internal bore of different makes is not the same so the inserts are not the same diameter.

If plastic inserts were universal fitting, we'd all be using them. The internal diameter of pipe from different manufacturers is not the same and nothing to do with warranties or anything else like that

This is yet another post where the OP needs to look at the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer on their website before embarking on a installation without any knowledge of what he/she is doing. If it was gas, there would be hell to pay on here.

A sticky is needed for this.......installation instructions for Plastic push fit systems with a link to JG, HEP etc.
