whats happened to our showers??

We have a huge old house with 2 mixer showers in bathrooms there is plenty of water coming out of the taps in bathrooms but both showers intermitantly making a whirring noise with only boiling water coming out or none at all, the overflow seems also to be dripping constantly.

Far too little info Stacey, we are not psychic.
It could be a pump proplem, if you have one, could be a supply problem.
The overflow dripping suggests more than one fault.
I'd recommend you post in the I need a plumber section and get someone over to investigate.
