Shower issue

Hi all,

Gravity open vented standard system.

I removed a standard mixer valve and replaced with a victoria plumb, thermostatic mixer valve, identical in looks,

it works via a pump, which is standard set up, ie surrey flange from the cistern etc etc. the shower head is fixed and not on a flexy hose.

Now, the old mixer worked via the pump perfectly until the day it seized.

The new mixer causes the pump to hunt sometimes not activate and draw air it seems.

It worked fine when i installed it and yesterday (2 days later) i received the its not working call!

im attending property tomorrow, is there things i can look for to resolve issue!

I assume it is not a negative head pump. The new valve likely is causing a greater flow resistance affecting the reed switches that activate the pump. Although not ideal if the new valve has gauze filters and or plastic check valves on the valve inlets pop them out and it may well improve the flow enough to stop the pump hunting for it.
