I'm fitting a recirculating loop to solve a dead leg wait for hot water. I'd like the most energy efficient solution that gives me instant hot water. I'd found the Grundfos UP20-14BXUT with built in timer and thermostat £254 inc VAT.

What other fully integrated pumps are available?

I could achieve the same thing buying a separate pump, thermostat and timer, had anyone else done this and what components did you buy? did you use a motion sensor instead of a timer, were other components required?

If I buy the Grundfos unit, can the timer and thermostat be swapped out for a reasonable cost if they break?

I understand the loop should be well insulated, it's an unvented tank, any further tips or advice appreciated.
