Replacing a shallow well jet pump. Right now I have the pump with the pressure switch in a underground concrete bunker and the pressure tank is in the basement of the house . There is about 25 ft of pipe between the pump and the tank . the pump clicks on and off three times when it shuts down and twice when it starts.
Would it operate properly if I installed a pressure switch at the tank.? Or can I just install a check valve in the pipe between the tank and the pump?

A quick google brought up 2 different installations one of which showed a switch by the tank.
