i have an Ashleigh plus focal point gas fire , the pilot light only lights out of the hole that points onto the thermocouple , the hole that points to the gas burner under the coals doesnt light on ignition . This means the fire lights with a " woosh" when the gas finally ignites , and when the fire does ignite , then the gas outlet that didnt light on ignition , lights . ( so there is gas coming out of the hole ) .
I have blown the airhole out with compressed air and cleaned the gas outlet holes with nozzle cleaners , but still wont light on the ignition spark . Do i need a new oxypilot or should it just need cleaning properly ? thanks

Stop messing around with a gas appliance and get a qualified engineer in who knows what he's doing.
DIY gas work kills.

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
