Hi my name is Chris.

I'm not yet qualified in plumbing in any capacity but but currently doing my City & Guilds level 2 diploma witha view to complete my NVQ's as I go along.
I worked previously for 6 months as a plumbers mate working with a Gas Engineer, we were subcontracted by the local council to swap out and service boilers in all their 3/4 bedroom properties. I picked up loads of stuff and really enjoyed it.
I keep hearing time and time again that now is a terrible time to get into plumbing as the market has been over saturated and there is not enough work, It does seem that every other works van on the road now is "AJ's or Dan's Plumbing and Heating" or something to that effect.
But I have spent most my working life in offices and I just have not had the job satisfaction I've got when plumbing.

So hopefully with the right attitude, hard work and persistence I will have a good career within the industry ahead of me.

Feel free to say hello and all "good" advice is welcome.

Cheers Chris

Hi Steve, hi quality

Steve is that your car in your picture? Is it the McLaren MP4? Is that what I can expect on a Plumbers wage?

Hello, hello, hello.
Im still about and thanks for all your friendly welcomes. I normally get email's telling me someone has replied to my threads but thats not been happening.

I have a hot water exam coming up soon. Its an open book exam so we can refer to WRAS (the questions are geared in a way that I wont get all my answers from the WRAS book) and I am a bit unsure on my building regs when it comes to hot water in domestic dwellings and im sure to be quized on this. Is there much to learn on building regs in a domestic dwelling that I have not already covered in my Cold water module?

Hey all. Just thought I would keep you all posted. Ive been in contact with a local Gas Engineer who recently spent a few days doing some work on my mums house. He said he has a job coming up in January which I can tag along for and help out. May potentially lead on to be something permanent. So things are starting to look a little better. The course is going well too.
Hope you are all well and feel free to say hello anytime.
And if you hear or know of anyone looking for apprentices in Devon give me a shout.

Chris.
