Honestly mate, get Gas safe out first thing. We all make mistakes but this is criminal!

I think a GSE needs to check it out first, we could be making assumptions about the bends and the tape has just been used as support/keeping them together as an additional means.

i doubt the engineer is GSR or i hope he isnt! incompetence is better than some one knowing the law and just blatently being a cowboy to the biggest extreme!!!

OMG!
this guy is not registered is he?.

ideal engineer at fault too for working on boiler and not inspecting installation on completion.

no bends on there just 'cut n shut'.

riddor reportable and i.d for innadequate flue system.

get hold of john wayne and gas safe now!!!!.

i will advise free of charge if your in my area, where is the installation?.op??

I've not worked on these newer Glowworm boilers before but I've heard they are similar to Vaillants.

If so are the flues the same? If they are then it should have the proper brackets on and be screwed. So why the need for tape if he has done that properly? Has he not clamped it properly?

Weren't you was it?! You do not hold flues to joists and purlins with duct tape! You don't. You just don't.

I do have his gas safe registration number and so do Glowworm, but I think it would be unfair to post it or how much I paid him on this forum. The Boiler was installed a week ago, but in hindsight has fortunately only been running in hot water mode as the downstairs radiators where not getting warm.......

In addition I withheld the vast majority (80%) of what they were due for the installation as the system was not working properly.

The question I have now is do I trust them enough to allow them to put it right.

no good engineer in their right mind would install a flue like that, this guy is a cowboy and we shouldnt be defending this at all, it is probably duct tape that he has used, RIDDOR reportable and HSE will investigate and proescute whoever installed it
