Connecting into old cast iron stack

Good evening

I've came across 90mm cast iron before and used mcalpine extB (90 to 110 extension)

But what I have here kind of bellows out to 108mm internal as you can see in the photos. Is this some sort of conversion to clay which is why their is a bulge?

What would be the 'Best' way of connecting a new pan onto this pipe? I have put a standard 90 deg mcalpine pan connector (see images) and it seems really snug, but something doesn't seem right.

The old toilet was really old with the porcelain connector what went straight into the pipe.

Any advice be appreciated

You should be able to use a stnd pan connector fine or aslong as it’s cast iron you can cut the bulge off and use a cast iron adapter / straight etc

Looking at the kind of bolted plate which I have circled, does this look like cast iron ?

Easy enough to cut through with an angle grinder if I decide to cut the 'buldged' part off ?

So it seems the stack is cast iron but the waste pipe leading to the toilet I think is lead, would it be safe to cut back and get a proper converter to pvc or am I best just trying to not bother it at all and go with the Pan connector straight into the bulge part

Tbh if it’s not cast iron I would leave alone could be abestos or pitch if you can make it work as is I would
