Discuss Bathtub odd leak from edge at end of tub in the UK Plumbing Forum | Plumbing Advice area at PlumbersForums.net

Hello, the edge of the end of my bathtub leaks when I am about 3 minutes in the shower. The faucet is on the opposite side. What could be causing this? I had someone take a look at it today but could not figure out where the leak is coming from. The odd thing is there was no leak when we had water running from the showerhead for 5 minutes but it started to leak when I took a shower hours after testing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The weight of someone standing in the bathtub may be just enough to cause a gap to open up and allow water to get between the bathtub and tiles where the sealant is, then run around to where it's leaking out.

Eliminate the possibility that it is splashing that is causing it by putting a hose or something to get water straight into the drain without going around the rim. Run this for 5-10 mins and if nothing appears you know that splashing is the cause which would likely mean it needs re-siliconing to the tiles. If water appears during the hose test you have a leak behind the tiles somewhere between the controller and the outlet
