Hi Friends

I have an Armitage Shanks close coupled toilet that I need to fix a leak from the donut washer.

The wing nuts are rusted and will not move!

Before I get to it I wanted to ask whether the rubber washer is the same as an Ideal Standard one?

I got caught out before and the plumbers merchants round here don't seem to stock them so I'll need to order on the internet before hand. I dont want to take it apart and then not be able to find one!

Any ideas and if so best place to order?

Also, i'll have to cut the wing nuts off, best to use a mini angle grinder? Its a confidence thing here, fixed them before but never had to cut the nut off!

Cheers all.

rocket, you can use a mini angle grinder if you have a steady hand or if you have a multi tool use that with a metal cutting blade.

If you are stuck for odd fittings try Ballcock & Bits in Bracknell near to the running Horse pub.

Thanks Steve. I was going to use a mini grinder but might buy a dremmel 200.

It's just the confidence thing again!

Thanks

Always use rubber donuts - the foam ones are crap !
