waste fittings

In modern plumbing, a drain-waste-vent (or DWV) is part of a system that allows air to enter a plumbing system to maintain proper air pressure to enable the removal of sewage and greywater from a dwelling. Waste is produced at fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and showers. As the water runs down, proper venting is required to avoid a vacuum from being created. As the water runs down air must be allowed into the waste pipe either through a roof vent, or the "drain waste vent" (DWV).

    Plumbing in a dishwasher

Hi please can you advise on which waste pipes I will need to connect a dishwasher? The existing pipe is coming up out of the floor at 90 degrees but it is glued. I think the pipe is laid under the floor and connects up to the sink waste. The cream colour pipe is 40mm and the screw cap is 50mm...

    Bath waste change

So I've decided to spruce up the bathroom by changing the taps and bath waste. Taps in with a lot of fickering. Now the new waste is causing problems. My new waste trap has connected to the new drain no problem. But the opposite end of the waste trap is a female compression which won't attach to...

Good Afternoon, some advice on waste fittings would be much appreciated.

Good Afternoon, As you may guess in the following message, I am by no means a plumber. My colleague has specifically requested a solvent version of a 110mm 135 Degree waste union to finish a part of a project. I have been having difficulties finding it though. I have found this type of unit...

MuPVC waste pipe should NOT be solvent welded to ABS waste fittings. Why?

In reality though, it's done all the time. Most don't realise it shouldn't be done and the reasons why. So why? What are the potential problems and the likelihood of those problems happening over time if an MuPVC to ABS joint is made and brought into service for hot and cold drainage? Is...

    Glued waste fittings

Anyone ever had any that has leaked? Had never seen any before and 3 of the course of the day leaked when tested. They were all well glued (both pipe and fitting). Could it be a dodgy batch perhaps? Never seen it before and I've on occasion only glued one part or not pushed the pipe in full...

    Basin Waste Fittings

I have a custom built basin stand that is tiled and has counter top basin attached. See below. I will be hiding the pipes by building a removable tiled shelf, back, and top to go into the recess you can see in the picture. I have fitted a shallow bottle trap. The only problem I have is...
