Hello all. Noticed a pool of water under kitchen sink. Checked the waste pipe and found the grey elbow in corner was totally slack on the pipe (see photos). Took apart waste pipe and seal seems ok. There appears to be a gap of about 5mm when pipe is fitted into this corner elbow. My question is...
Looked at a gutted cloakroom to quote for installing toilet and basin.
At the time was just bare concrete floor. Soil pipe connection from previous toilet was roughly standard height (180 ish from floor).
I thought they were going to tile it.
Now he says they are having underfloor heating...
I am trying to figure out how to fit a (non-electrical) water softener in my downstairs bathroom where the supply pipe enters the house. It might be made to fit under the washbasin but only if I could relocate the trap from directly under the basin back about 20cm to nearer the wall. It seems...

Hi - I bought a new tap hole stopper from B&Q, installed it and tightened it real tight under the sink.
However, water is dripping thru it to underneath the sink.
The metal area was clean when I put it in - the rubber looked fine and I screwed it on tight.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Alex
I am in desperate need of advice, from a female who knows nil about plumbing but is learning fast following a huge amount of water discovered under my home! There was absolutely no indication of any of this going on in my home until laminate recently lifted in corner of my home! floor boards...
Hi guys
I had an oil to gas conversion done a couple of weeks ago. Today I've noticed a slow leak under the bath where the pipework connects to the hot tap of the bath. On the picture you can see where the dip is forming.
Is there any way I can tighten/stop this myself?
Many thanks.
Hi, we moved into a house with a 3 years old underfloor system. I notice a small leak coming from the pin (sitting in manifold under actuator). I think the leak stops once the actuator is removed and taken off the pin. I suppose I will need a new pin unit but as a similar leak seem to be...

Hello,
I am thinking of feeding all rads on the ground floor through manifold and parallel connection.
- Manifold will get supply from 22mm pipes
- Hep2O/Speedfit 15mm pipes from manifold will run in continuous length (under the screeded floor) to each radiator
- Return 15mm pipe from each rad...

I've just been asked to go and look at a flue that exits under a retractable awning, and provide a safety certificate so I'm wondering, as I've not had this kind of call before, what the regs are - or where I might find the particular one for this?
What certificate would I provide?
They haven't...
Hi, please can some one point me in the right direction.
The property is around 6 years old and I believe all the zones have been working.
The house has a manifold (near the boiler) in the basement, with a secondary manifold on the ground floor with rads upstairs.
The basement manifold feeds...

Hello to all!
looking for a bit of advice here.
I want to connect my washing machine to the sink waste which is a bit far and I don't want to go through the kitchen units but underneath. I obviously don't want to overload the pump.
Will it work if I do as per my drawing (the red line)?

I have a leak in my bungalow floor. Only bought it last sept but was away in the states for awhile. Looked behind my dishwasher and noticed a ft up the wall is damp and it stretches right around the kitchen. I also noticed my grout lines in my dark tiles aren't dry either. This stretches right...
Can anyone advise if it is feasible to move these pipes below floor level or if they are like this for a reason (picture 1)?
They are hot water pipes. I guess they were put like this for ease rather than anything else?
The second photo is of either a gas or water pipe which I am yet to...

Hello there!
Please help me, I think i am in pipe hell :frown2: or maybe just pipe purgatory for now. Long story short i ended up having to pull my poor bathroom apart when a pipe under the basin failed... only to find another very slow leak in a hot water pipe hidden under my bath.
