training
Training is teaching, or developing in oneself or others, any skills and knowledge or fitness that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific goals of improving one's capability, capacity, productivity and performance. It forms the core of apprenticeships and provides the backbone of content at institutes of technology (also known as technical colleges or polytechnics). In addition to the basic training required for a trade, occupation or profession, training may continue beyond initial competence to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout working life. People within some professions and occupations may refer to this sort of training as professional development. Training also refers to the development of physical fitness related to a specific competence, such as sport, martial arts, military applications and some other occupations.
Hi all. I'm newly qualified in gas. However I want to learn about boiler breakdowns and diagnostics. At the moment all I do is installations etc and don't have a clue about boiler breakdowns or how or where to start. Please could anyone help me.
I am gas safe registered.
A couple of guys in my work have left to get jobs elsewhere. The boss has stated they must repay the cost of their ACS training. In our contracts there is nothing mentioning training costs to be paid when leaving the company.
Just wanted to get views on this from employees and employers.
Can...

Hi
i have been training with OLCI since Feb. And now it seems that ERR have been appointed by the administrators to take over my teaching. I was already unhappy with OLCI but now I keep being told to wait from ERR and they will get back to me.

Hello, I needed a bit of advice. I would love a career in gas or plumbing, mostly gas but i know they both over lap at times and i can go onto more training when needed. I have left it a bit late as i am 21 and i know straight from school is the best times for apprenticeships or training. Is...
On looking into gas courses, it appears the beginning few weeks is all theory.
Does anyone know if this is available to do as a home study course?
I don't want to do another fast track course and I'd rather take my time but would prefer to do home study for the theory so I can study while...

I've just completed my 6035 Level 2 Diploma (C&G) and Water Regs/Unvented Hot Water Systems (Logic) with The Plumbing Academy / Access Training and thought I'd supply some feedback.
Access Training (based in Wales) bought The Plumbing Academy (based in Kent) not too long ago and they are now in...

Why is my boss so reluctant to help me gain my ACS and gas safe qualifications? I've been working with him for 7 months now and I've completed my NVQ IN PLUMBING AND HEATING. It's annoying me because before I started with him I told him I wanted to do my gas.
I see lots of people trying to get experience and offering their labour for free in return. They usually don't get much in the way of opportunities because quite often someone who is not experienced can actually be a liability.
However, do any gas companies offer a service where people who...
