Hello lads,

does anybody know how to go about or how hard it us to work for the manufacturers as a engineer? For some reason I think this would be a great job. Would they put me through boiler breakdown training?

I would think you would have to simply apply to the manufacturer as youd apply to any job , send your CV in along with a letter stating that youd like to be chosen for that particular job should it arise,,,, ok youd get good at workin on that brand but id miss the variety,

most will let you sub for them as techie where they are short of cover. Probably pay £45 per call out and any return calls for you failing to fix come out of your pocket. training is around a week and you get a van load of spares, so no issues with swap n go.

Most makers want experienced breakdown engineers that they can then develop most require a minimum level of electrical competence when using multimeters and all that jazz

ferrolli offered me some work in the sw, however, they didnt like my idea of reasonable costs and I heard no more :)

if they paid a reasonable sum , it would be a brilliant earner imho, after all breakdowns are our bread and butter.
