mixer
A mixer, depending on the type, also called a hand mixer or stand mixer, is a kitchen device that uses a gear-driven mechanism to rotate a set of "beaters" in a bowl containing the food or liquids to be prepared by mixing them.
Mixers help automate the repetitive tasks of stirring, whisking or beating. When the beaters are replaced by a dough hook, a mixer may also be used to knead.
A mixer may be a handheld mechanism known as an eggbeater, a handheld motorized beater, or a drill mixer. Stand mixers vary in size from small counter top models for home use to large capacity commercial machines. Stand mixers create the mixing action by either rotating the mixing device vertically (planetary mixers), or by rotating the mixing container (spiral mixers).
My Franke Eiger mixer tap started leaking from where the spout joins the body. I took the spout off, the o rings looked ok so I put a bit of silicone grease on and put it back. After a couple of days it started again. I have a friend that has about six different boxes of o rings, he must have...
We are replacing our kitchen mixer tap, but I haven't figured out how to remove the old one yet as I'm a lowly DIY-er and unfamiliar with the fitting that holds it in place.
The old tap is a Franke Zurich, and inspecting underneath the sink I can see it has what looks like a brass tube with a...
Are the tap hole centres on most 3 hole tap centres the same? Have to swap the taps in one that has 200mm centres for the taps with the spout in the middle. Thanks.
Right, complete amateur alert...
I'm fitting a Bristan recessed thermostatic dual control shower mixer. Have fitted two elsewhere in the house without any issues. Got this one all connected and tested the water...hot is fine, nothing from the cold. When I first turned it on there was sound like...
i have a hidden shower mixer which has been intermittently playing up recently. Sometimes it does not give full pressure and sometimes it does, sometimes it is difficult to turn off as well. Unfortunately there is no manufacturers name visible on the unit anywhere that I can see - I can access...
My wife complained the mixer switching lever was getting stiff so I unscrewed it to see the problem. Something obviously broke in the process as now the mixer is stuck on shower no matter what position the switch is in. To replace the whole unit is around £100. Can spares be obtained for this...
Having only really dealt with bar mixers and electric showers this would be a first for me.
So my mixer shower started going hot and cold every now and then, and eventually started to leak frequently from the middle, so replaced the cartridge, which has solved the 2 issues.
This is the bit...
Good Evening all, hope everyone is well.
Im not long out of my time so go gentle please lol.
I have the job of replacing bath mixer tap (no isolation valves fitted under bath). It has an unvented cylinder installed. Is it just a case of isolating mains water, opening taps to drain water out of...
Hi All,
Brand new to this forum so please be kind! Recently taken in a project to redo my ensuite and have thoroughly enjoyed the process of learning new skills along the way however I'm coming across is bit of a stumbling block with regards to a mixer tap.
I decided to bring a main cold...
I have lived at this house for over 10 years and it has been interesting keeping things working.
The latest issue is a weeping kitchen mixer tap. Probably been gently weeping since I moved in but always blamed the slight damp on somthing else. Took it apart and look what I found. Standard tap...
Hi there. I'm new to this forum, and just looking for some advice. We have just had a new bathroom and have gone for mixer taps on the bath, but I have noticed that when the hot tap is in the off position the tap lever is not facing straight ahead, it is turning in, and it's gradually turning...

Situation: Had a boiler system conversion. From Potterton boiler with Gledhill storage tank with on demand hot water to Veissman Combo with on demand hot water. 2 bed semi with only myself and wife living here. Unfortunately used iheat service which has no real customer service. Have had the...
Hi All, we are having issues with this thermostatic shower mixer. There is no brand marking and we are having issues extracting the inlet filters for cleaning. Thanks for any help! We think the filter just needs cleaning but this is turning into a tricky job!
Anyone coming across these tap fixing components. I'm struggling to find a box spanner to fit. The nut is about 33-34 mm between flats. New install and as far as I can see nothing apart from a box spanner will tighten this. Unless you have the opportunity fit before installing sink.
With a thermostatic mixer showers, can you replace
the unit, in a mains pressure unvented system boiler
configuration, by just turning the cold mains off
at the stopcock when the water supply enters the
property? Will the hot and cold water stop flowing
if you turn the mains water off?
I tried to fix stiff self closing taps but could not work it out. I do not have the brand of taps. The very top came off like a lid but the actual head did not seem to come off inside the lid It appeared as like a bleed point like on a radiator. I could also access the cartridge further down and...
I need to replace an old Sirrus 1850 shower mixer valve with a more uptodate mixer bar.
Problem is that the hot feed is on the right and the mixer bars I've seen ask for the hot feed to be on the left.
Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
I’m installing a new shower bar mixer using a fixing kit which means I have to drill into the tile each side of the pipes to install the bracket. I do not want to hit a pipe, what’s the best way of doing it?
