Hi i have a Worcester 29 CC1 when the heating reaches a certain temperature it bangs thus blowing the flame out, and it has to relight but then it just does the same over and over again. It also when hot water tap is turned on makes a very loud vibrating and whuring noise and then bangs but will light straight away second time round. had a couple of people look at it and no one has seen or herd of a boiler doing this.
Any ideas?

Initial thoughts are flame, ignition or exhaust issues ... Had the boiler serviced recently?

Having people look at it means what exactly?

Boiler has been serviced twice since this happening, had the family plumber round again yesterday and he has said that really he didn't want to leave it switched on after hearing and seeing it 'bang', he has seen something threw the window that shows its alight tha seems to be glowing cherry red that he doesnt believe should be. But also the last plumber said that the flue looks very very strange and he has never seen anything like it before. the boiler was installed by british gas and i've been told they can use very strange flue set ups?
Family plumber is getting all the gaskets tomorrow to take it apart and see if there is any damage inside the burner and check out if the thing glowing red should be or not. But this has been happening for over a year now and has been serviced twice as said and nobody seems to be able to work out what it is as we could never get it to do it whilst they were here.
As you can imagine tho with the plumber being a family member we are last on his list of jobs and he has been saying for a long time he would try and sort it, so hopefully this time we will get somewhere but if anyone does has ideas would be great :)

Has the condensate been checked to see if it's backed up/choked?

Yeah was checked yesterday and there was no problem there

An FGA will tell you heaps about how well the boilers performing .... If your guy's taking it apart He might want to check the spark gap :)

Many things to considder to be honest ... Hopefully your man is familiar with repairing appliances :)
