Alright Mouthbreathers

What is the general opinion on the Siamp Optima 50 Cable operated flush valves?

I fitted a bathroom the other week with the aforementioned valve in close coupled WC cistern, and it failed after 2 days, cable kinked, so button would not come back up when pushed down, kinked cable was stopping it, I tried to straighten cable, no joy.

The cable supplied was 495mm long, and had to be bent round alot to go in, it just looked as if it was too long to me.

siamp do a slightly shorter one, a 395mm, I am going to replace the cable with this, I just hope it does the trick.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Regards

John

all working ok still at present, you must have kinked it somehow

ive had a call out to one but i hadnt fitted it, same problem , i fitted a new cable as i had the excact same valve on the van , hav not been called back yet!

On thier site it says the 495mm cable is for concealed cisterns and the 395mm is for close coupled. Fingers crossed the shorter cable does the trick.
