Not exactly sure but i would ID it and advise customer to have you repair it or you will have to disconnect

is fine to use a hose aslong as manufactures instructions say its exceptable and the hose is not subject to high temps and distress. See gas safe tech bulletin.

It's ok if MI allows it.
If inspecting an exisiting installation & the hob's on a flex & there's no signs of stress, the most it'll be is ncs, unless it's showing signs of stress, say from being next to a hot oven back it's ID, unless you can refix it with copper.

Here is a qoute from BS 6172.

11.1.3 A gas hob shall be connected to the termination point by means of rigid pipework or, unless stated
otherwise in the manufacturer’s instructions, a flexible connector and self-sealing plug device conforming
to BS 669-1.

If its safe then yes

It prob was done by a DIYer but if safe. It's safe

I've id many flexis. But in certain circumstances I will pass it

do you not mean flued appliance, ie flued domestic appliances must be connected with a fixed rigid pipe.

if this is what you were taught then you werent taught properly, unless you are confusing someone recommending a rigid pipe rather than a flexi where it is allowed, if MI says its allowed then its allowed, its lazy but its not wrong
