Hi,

I have just bought my first house and I want to get rid of the existing fireplace and put my TV there instead. The fire vented through a cavity flue to the roof which has like a ^ sitting over the top.

Am I OK to plasterboard this up or do I need an air brick somewhere, and if so, where does this airbrick need to be located?

Thanks for any help.

That's exactly the same flue layout as my own house.
Mines been boarded up for 28years.

If your fixing a T.v to the wall check whether the Gas pipe comes down from above, as mine does.

The fireplace is off now. The gas pipe comes horizontally from the right hand side at low level. I am going to get it cut back, capped and lost in the wall.

I presume from your post you did not fit an air brick and you haven't experienced any problems?
