I'm caught between two systems for UFH, I prefer the idea of the polypipe as it is simpler and quicker to install - my plumber /builder haven't done the low profile screed type UFH before, but...

Nu Heat say their screed system has a heat output of 120w/m2 through 10mm pipe.

But the Polypipe overlay only does 79w/m2 through 12mm pipe!?

That's a huge difference in heat output, and I cant work out why? I would have thought it would have been the other way round between them?

Can anyone advise?

Many thanks,

Thanks IDCHAPPY, the Minitec looks to be very similar to the NU HEAT system. My concern is that low profile screed worries me with cracking over time, or being installed incorrectly etc. Especially as my current builder/plumber havn't done low profile screed before.

Having solid, pre-grooved trays just strike me as safer bet, and I presumed the Polypipe's fibreboard trays would help insulate the heat from going downwards?

Or is a screeded system, much better at dissipating the heat into the floor?
