Hi Group,
Im trying to remove a thermostatic cartridge and Im struggling to find a key to remove the valve. The diameter is 34mm and there are two prongs needed to fit into the valve retaining nut
Help greatly appreciated
thanks

Presumably the plate and maybe a shroud will come off easily enough.
I then usually use an old large flat bladed screwdriver and drive it around with short sharp taps of a hammer.
If that fails , cut yourself a ‘key’ using a grinder and a bit of steel plate.
To be honest the screwdriver has always worked for me.

It's the distance between the 'prongs' that is needed, which I estimate to be about 25mm from the photo.
I'm aware of this tool, but seems to be out of stock - sorry, not much help!

This sounds like a bodge, but I've had success in the past using long nose pliers and a parallel jaw large wrench applied near the 'nose' to turn them!
And as Ben jee just mentioned, tapping with a screwdriver, so I feel my method is not such a bodge after all!

A bit of appropriately sized tube and a hacksaw is the other approach 😀

As Ben-Gee has stated the chrome face plate should pull forward, then the chrome round shroud leaving you with access to the cartridge. Either a large spanner or flat blade screw driver to shuffle it round. If you need a new one try Shower Doctor online with a photo of the existing one if you don't already have one.
