Hi there,

I am a little concerned regarding a gas pipe that runs on the outside of my house... The pipe comes off of the meter, straight outside and then runs along the side of the house tees in for the cooker and carries on round the back of the house and then back into the house just under the combi boiler.

It isn't insulated or anything just bare copper. Is this something to worry about or is this normal practice? SHould it be insulated etc, etc?

The pipe is running about 3-4ft high along the side and back of the house.

I have no reason to log into my account to post lies.. I did 6 flats worth last Fridays & given the 80/90mph wind we've had recently I can confirm they're still there intact as I put them.

Okay .. goodnight

its very common practice on new build flats. If they designed the building better or spent alittle bit of money on a purposed built duct/boxing then the issue of trying to hide them would not arise. Sadly like most house builders saving a few pounds is the problem of the plumber on site.

ive done some very expensive flats that have had a aecv in the middle of the lounge wall with a mdf cubby stuck around it. Design the flat with the kitchen on the front, its not rocket science.

I worked on some gas carcass was amazing three four and five floors above meter, service riser remote ect......22mm all 35m of it. Leasehold allowed no upgrades. External. 35 mm would have been a lot easier
